Dinner Cruise At 7 p.m. each evening the Mae Ping Dinner Cruise leaves the restaurant jetty and a delicious Thai dinner served on board the special 30-seater craft. Cruise slowly along the River Ping and experience the romantic magic of Chiang Mai by night. Set menu or your own choice of Thai dinner is served. Return to the jetty at 9 p.m. (Special lunch cruise also undertaken for group or party bookings)
Wat Chai Monkol is one of the oldest community monasteries in Chiang Mai. It was founded around 600 years ago.
As the power and influence of the Lanna kingdom was emergning at the time of the strong King Tilokaraj. Shrines and artefacts were added by the various ethinic groups using the temple – Burmese styles. Note the imposing Chinese shrine with its goddess of mercy statue. The boat landing was the main Chiang Mai arrival and departure point for visiting royalty and merchants of substance. The statue of Ram V, King Chulalongkorn, is popular spot for Thai devotees.
You should not leave Chiang Mai without tasting the local speciality, Kao Soi is a smooth, noodle curry soup. Prepared with fine ingredients, you will enjoy Kao Soi Baan Chao Na at the Farmer’s Landing – fresh yellow egg noodles, coconut milk straight from the shell and Baan Chao Na authentic chilli paste, freshly ground to a special family recipe.
